I've recently realized that my family tends to have quick labors. I say that because I always knew the amount of time my mom spent at the hospital etc. I just didn't know how long most people spent there.
My mom's first baby was born three and a half hours after her water broke. She didn't know she was in labor before then. Her second baby was born before my dad could make it to the hospital and I was born after 5-7 contractions. I must say, my mom is a bit of a superwoman because my youngest brother was born breech without any pain medication. Yeah, she rocks.
My sister went to her routine appointment at 37 weeks and found out she was dilated to a six already, didn't even know she was in labor and proceeded to dilate and have the baby a few hours later. Yes, it's true. *Don't read the above as painless. She did eventually have lots and lots of pain.
I don't know exactly what my expectation should be, but I have heard that labor length is somewhat genetic. I'm actually thrilled to hear this. I've heard it's more painful to be quick but it sounds nice to be done in a few hours. Maybe I'm just an impatient dork, but for what it's worth, I am now looking forward to seeing what happens. Just 16 weeks to go!
I start Bradley birthing classes on Tuesday. I'm a bit nervous but mostly excited. We have to attend two classes each week for three weeks so we can fit them all in before going back to Chicago. It will definitely be worth it.

ReproDepot

My all time favorite fabric store is ReproDepot.com. It is simply incredible. They have so many fabrics that I 'need'. This is a new one called Echino Scooters. It is so cute. I think Baby Sven would very much like a blanket out of it. And heck, while I'm at it, maybe I'll throw together a little onesie and pant set to match.
At some point kids request you stop making their clothes. I am hoping to be able to make a lot of clothes and accessories for him before he reaches that point.

4 Happy Years
Today is our four year anniversary. I can't believe it has been this long. We have been having such a good time! In those four years we have moved four times, adopted a dog, been to Sweden and Denmark, moved to Chicago and made it 2/3 of the way through law school.
I've known Jason for nine and a half years. I love him more every day and he makes me want to be a better person. I feel so blessed to have him as my husband. It's been a great time and I can't wait to see what the future brings.

Family Reunion
These are a few of the things I've been working on this week. It is so fun to have the time to do whatever I want! I'm loving my summer. I'm sure you're all very jealous! My Mom's family is having a reunion for the 4th of July. There will be tons of people there! It will be really fun. As one of the activities they are having a trade or auction (I'm not sure which). I made these specifically for that.

#2
Okay, just for fun I thought I would post my second favorite option. It is a close second because I love the wall art. I think that would be perfect for our baby boy! I'm sure I could replicate that. These last two posts show that I am really just an idea thief.
I got both of these nursery ideas from Baby Super Mall. It is so great because they show you where to buy everything used in that room AND outfits you can buy to coordinate your kid with his room. It may seem tacky, but that really appeals to me.
Nursery Decor
I've been looking for the perfect nursery to basically copy. I know... lame. You would think I could come up with something on my own and in fact I will simply because I'm not willing to pay what it costs to have this one. I found a few that I like but this one is especially cute to me. We don't really have a bedroom to make into a nursery but we do have a rather large closet. So, imagine this scaled down quite a bit.
I love the use of the clocks and how non-cartoonish it looks. I also like the wall decal and think I could possibly replicate it. Or at least find someone on Etsy to do it.

We've Arrived
Well, we actually got here on Monday! We decided to do the last two days of the trip in one day. It all worked out well. We got here around 8:30 and unloaded the car. Deebo was quite tired and ornery. (He still is, but the more he sleeps the better it gets.)
The condo is fabulous. I love it. The kitchen is beautiful and larger than our other one. It has a washer and dryer and dish washer. It's so nice! I'm seriously not going to know what to do with my time! It's a good thing I brought a suitcase of crafty things. The only down part about the apartment is the sleeping arrangements.
Last week I called the person we're subletting from to make sure everything was ready for us. She is a very funny person who is not a native English speaker. After making sure everything was okay and ready she mentioned that there were twin beds. Knowing it was only a one bedroom I realized that meant there were ONLY twin beds. I don't know why she failed to mention this two months ago when we arranged everything, but she said she didn't know our sleeping arrangements. Hah. We decided that wasn't a big deal and we could make it work. (not that we had a choice since we already had a contract and nowhere else to live).
So when we showed up there was ONE twin bed and a mat. I took the bed and Jason took the mat. Deebo was probably thankful we brought his bed so he didn't have to fight over a bed. He also probably thought Jason was in trouble. Today we figured out if we take the twin bed off the box springs and lay it on the floor the mat and mattress should be about the same height. We'll see if that works. If not, Jason's sister Karen was so sweet to lend us her inflatable mattress.
Good times.
We've spent the rest of the day getting set up. I made a Target run and did some serious damage at the grocery store. It feels like we're pretty well settled.

Tulsa to Albuquerque
Day two was also better than expected. It wasn't as pretty as yesterday's drive but it was still decent. Okay, the panhandle of Texas is just ugly but at least we got some pretty views at the beginning and end of the drive. Deebo did great. He was always willing to get back in the car and keep driving. Jason and I are both shocked. He's been so good.
Last night he did well too. He had to sleep on the bed because every time someone would walk by the door he would growl. Jason did a good job calming him down. I slept. Thankfully people didn't really walk by much and it only happened 2-3 times.
Lunch was from DQ in the middle of nowhere Texas. I'm not kidding. There was nothing else and after a disastrous lunch at DQ yesterday we didn't really want to stop, but didn't have a choice since there wasn't anything else. Today was at least better but the ambiance was exactly what you'd expect from the only fast food joint in the middle of nowhere Texas. All well. Dinner was from Chili's To Go. It's a great system. Yesterday we did TGI Fridays. I call and order and Jason runs over to pick it up. We can't really eat at a restaurant since we have Deebo but we don't want fast food again. I highly recommend it.
