Easter Poll

The Easter poll has officially ended. As it turns out, more people who look at this blog woke up to hidden Easter baskets. Who would have thought? I'm glad to know my family isn't totally weird. I don't know if Jason and I will continue the tradition, but I think we have a few years before we have to decide. Of course Baby Ems won't be able to look very hard for it's basket when it is 5 months old.

Earthquake

This is what was going on at our house at 4:37 this morning.

Cami: "Jason... Jason... JASON!"
Jason: "What?" (as he sits up quickly)
Cami: "Why is the bed shaking"
Jason: "It's just Deebo" (as he lays back down)
Cami: "I guess I had a dream we had an earthquake"

This is what was going on at our house around 6:45 this morning.

Jason: (turning on the news) "Whoa... there really was an earthquake this morning"

I would like you all to know that Deebo doesn't sleep on the bed nor can he shake it in any way. Somehow this was an acceptable response at 4:37 because I didn't argue.

Guess the sex

I've posted a poll to see what everyone thinks our baby will be. I don't know that Jason and I have any inkling of what it may be. We will be finding out at the end of May so make sure to vote before then.

Maternity Clothes

I don't know how millions of women have dealt with maternity clothes sizing in the past. Maybe I'm just missing something but everywhere I've looked they have S, M, and L. Hello? Why wouldn't pregnant women want clothes that fit really well just like other women. I don't think any of us can walk into a store and pick up one of three sizes of pants and expect them to fit. And who is going to pay for tailoring their maternity clothes. Maybe I'll start altering / making more clothes.

If anyone knows where to locate clothing that comes with a number size, please let me know.

Deebo's Ready

This last Saturday morning after attempting to wake Jason and I up, rather unsuccessfully, Deebo went out to the dining room. When he came back he had somehow managed to take the handles of my purse and put them over his head and front paws. He came charging into the room with my purse around his waist. I'm sure he was so proud of himself. Of course, if I just had my purse I could get out of bed and take him for a walk. Sometimes I swear he's so logical and thinks like a human. I just wish I wouldn't have been half asleep and would have taken a picture.

We're Expecting

Yes, I am indeed pregnant! Our due date is October 20! I'm 12 weeks at this point and have had a pretty easy pregnancy so far. I've been really tired and had occasional bouts of heartburn after eating red sauce right before bed but otherwise have made it out of the first trimester unharmed. Oh, I also don't crave sweets like I did before. I still crave baking. I don't think that bothers Jason at all.

We call our child Baby Ems. Ems is short for embryo. We intend to call it that until October 20. Then, who knows, we'll probably pick a new name for it.

We have had two ultrasounds and Baby Ems is doing very well. At the last one it was so cute! It was flipping around waving it's arms. It even kicked it's legs and waved. The doctor suggested we rest up because this is one active baby.

Easter Baskets

Now that Easter has come and gone and many of my friends and family have blogged about it I have come to a small realization... my family is not as unique as I thought they were. The Easter Bunny always hides our baskets. Jason has always told me that my family is alone in doing so. Well, it doesn't seem that way. I've posted a survey on the side and want to know how many of you woke up to hidden Easter Baskets.

teh

I type fast. Ever since high school typing I have been competitive about it. I always want to know how fast Jason types and try to beat it. He, of course, thinks its ridiculous and rarely takes those online tests for me.

I bring this up because I have a handful of consistent errors. 50% of the time I type teh instead of the. It drives me nuts. I can't figure out how to fix this problem. I guess I should just slow down and eventually it will correct itself. There are a few others that I always get wrong because certain fingers are faster than others. I wonder if this has something to do with being left handed and maybe since my left hand is dominant it moves a little faster. If anyone has a solution or explanation for this, please let me know.

Law Review Board

I'm so proud of Jason! He just found out last night that he will be the Book Review Editor on The University of Chicago Law Review Board for the next year. He is so awesome! It's actually a great position for him (in my opinion) and hopefully it will be fun for him.

New Computer

Jason made a very important purchase today and I can't wait to tell you all! I'm getting a new computer! WOOHOO! It's been a very long two months. I think sharing computers is something like Tivo or underwear that doesn't give you a wedgie... once you have it you can't go back. Jason has been so sweet through the whole thing. He's made sure I have a chance to check my email in the evenings even though he's very busy working.

My computer was ordered and shipped today. Oh, it will be heaven when it gets here. Oh, and for those who care, I got a Macbook. I thought about the Air for a very long time. It's just wasn't the most practical computer for me. It would be fun, but since my computer rarely leaves the house, size isn't a huge issue. The speed will be handy and it will last longer. It's a happy day at Wilcox house.
