I've decided I'm going to take the reins on my sugar addiction and take the wellness challenge. I first heard about it from my aunt who did it for 3 MONTHS and have heard about it a few times since. I'm excited to try it.
THE CHALLENGE
1. 7 hrs. of sleep (not necessarily consecutive - naps count too!)
2. 48 oz. of water
3. 30 minutes of exercise (not necessarily consecutive)
4. 2 servings of veggies
5. 2 servings of fruit
6. No soda or other unhealthy drinks (high sugar juices)
7. No bad fast food (anything fried) or unhealthy snacks (ex: potato chips)
8. No sweets. (Desserts, pastries, sugary snacks & cereals) Sugar-Free alternatives are OK.
9. No eating after dinner/7:30pm
10. 15 min. of scripture reading (or spiritual text if you don't do scripture)
11. One journal entry (any length)
12. Express sincere appreciation, love or praise to your spouse or if single, to another person)
You get 1 free point in each category per week (not-interchangeable).
I'm hoping to stop craving sugar like I do and increase my overall health. I'm going to do it for a month and would like to invite you to join me! I'm going to start tomorrow but I understand if you need a few days before you start. Let me know if you're in!

You are amazing and inspiring, as always. I'm in! I was just about to post something about my efforts with #3 on your list. The rest of the items are ones I need to observe more, too.
Good luck!
Awesome! I'm glad you're in!
Good for you! I love the idea, but I'm going to have to work my way up to it. I'm on a low-sugar diet for the next two weeks, and I'm trying to start an exercise program. Once I figure that out, maybe I'll give it a try. Good luck! Oh, I'm interested in joining your cooking blog. How do I get in?
I am in. I have cut out all sugar 2 weeks ago. It has been alright. I have lost 2 lbs. Journaling will be hard for me. But it is a challenge after all. Thanks for the challenging spirit.
I wish I could be in, but there is no way I can give up on my chip addiction this pregnancy! Maybe I can do a modified challenge :) Glad you guys are enjoy DC so much! Crazy that Kinsley and Calder were sick the same week. How are they so similar??
that's a great idea! But, being pregnant I just can't manage to cut out sugar. But I am still exercising and eating my fruits and veggies, so that's pretty good, right? :)
ooh - i may be in. zach will be in the mts for 2 weeks straight and that will make it easier to avoid sugar and potato chips. i'm with bayra, though - journaling daily may be the toughest.
when are you starting, and for how long?
i'm in.
oh, cami, you've always got some worthy challenge, don't you?? i'm totally up for it, but i'll have to wait. i'm up to my ears in boxes and figuring out where to send my kids to school in 2 days (well, really tomorrow, i guess). maybe reading about your success will inspire me even more for when i'm settled in and ready to do it!
So funny I am just now reading your post. As a born candy addict, I have my own problems. But Drew and I are giving up candy and desserts for a month as well. I am now on day 6 and doing great. I am doing pretty much everything else on your list, so I am in as well! What a great motivator you are, Cami!! Wonderful.
