We had the honor of hosting Flat Shelby over the weekend! Flat Shelby is a creation of my cousin Shelby in Temecula, California. She is in 2nd grade. I don't know if you have all read the book Flat Stanley, but it is a great book. It was one of my favorites when I was younger. In the book a boy named Stanley has a bulletin board fall on him. He is fine but he is squished flat. He is thrilled to discover all the places he can go. Flat Shelby visited Chicago.

Flat Shelby in front of the Sears Tower. It will be changing its name to Willis Tower this summer. It is the tallest building in the United States and the second tallest in the world.

Corn Cob buildings.

Flat Shelby and the Art Institute.

The beautiful Chicago skyline view from
The Point.

This is one of my favorite stops with Flat Shelby. This is the newspaper guy I waved at every day on my way to work for 4 years. He is very nice and definitely a part of my Chicago experience. I never bought a paper from him. He may not have the same warm feelings for me that I have for him.

We took Flat Shelby to the White Sox game tonight. Unfortunately it was rained out, so we enjoyed some brats with onions and went home. It was great.

This is my very favorite part of having Flat Shelby visit. Shelby's brother is serving a mission here in Chicago and is currently serving in our stake. We got to have them over for dinner. It was great! I'm hoping to host them at least one more time before we move.

That is too fun! Warren would love that idea.
That is a great idea! I want to tell my little sisters-in-law about that book. Currently they are traveling around the world for 9 months. Oh wait, I can send them Flat Bayra. What a great idea! Thank you so much! I am going to read that book! You are very nice to say nice things about me on my blog. I think you are an exceptionally wonderful and capable sweet person. Thanks for being my friend. Love you!
Loved all the pictures! How exciting to have Jordan holding Flat Shelby. Lucky Jordan to get a little taste of family while out on the mission.
How fun. These flat people really get around! I'm surprised by how many times I've seen someone holding a Flat Stanley-like character and taking pictures. I'd never even heard of Flat Stanley till semi recently.
Hi Cami! Yes, I am the stalker of the universe, but at least I'm admitting to it, right? I found your blog on your facebook page (I was randomly thinking about you guys today and thought I'd search for you. I haven't been stalking you for more than 10 minutes, I promise!). Anyway, congrats on Calder! It looks like he was born very close to our daughter. Her birthday is 10/13/08. Casey told me you were going to Columbus. I'm so jealous!! That's where we went to undergrad and where I would love to live. We've enjoyed Vegas a lot and are awaiting a start date from Kirkland to know when we're heading back to Chicago. You can see some pictures of our daughter, Kinsley, on our blog frankfronk.blogspot.com Hope you are doing well :)
Looks Like fun! How nice to get to feed Elder Price!
That is so cute! What a fun idea. Sorry the Sox game was rained out, but awesome Shelby's brother is serving there!
