Baked: New Frontiers in Baking

I've been wanting to do this for a while and am finally getting up the courage to do it. I want to start a baking club. Here's how it works. We each buy the same cookbook (I am thinking Baked: New Frontiers in Baking by Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito ). Then we all bake the same recipe and share our pictures and comments about the recipe. I think it would be best if we bake something new either every week or every other week. And of course we should take turns choosing what to bake.

I want this to be fun and successful. I really want to get as many people as possible to participate so even if you don't know me, please leave a comment that you're interested. Tell your friends to join. I'm totally serious. I think it would be a lot of fun.

As soon as we have a few people who are interested I think we should use a separate blog for our baking chit chat. Of course you can post pictures and comments on your own blog about the recipes we choose but it would be nice to have one central location to meet.

If you're interested please leave a comment letting me know the following things:
1. If you're interested.
2. If you think Baked: New Frontiers in Baking is a good choice. If you have a different baking book you would like to suggest, please do so.
3. If you think we should choose a new recipe every week or every other week.
4. What day works best for you to 'present' our baked item.

I would love to join your baking club! But I'll have to wait a few months til I'm back in the US since I don't have all the necessary supplies (don't even have a mixer) and probably won't have all the ingredients. I think every other week is good. I don't know anything about that cookbook, but I'm sure it's good if you like it!

If you are in need of an official taste-tester, I'll gladly sacrifice my health for the good of the cause...

I'm in! Is anyone else interested in making it a baking/cooking group? I'd be interested in switching off between baked goods and meals.

I'm fine with every week although I may miss some weeks.

I usually do my baking on the weekends - Saturdays or Sundays. So maybe Monday is a good day to post?

I think it sounds fun. I am up for baking/cooking weekly or every other week is great. What ever works for everyone else.

Sounds like fun. I usually don't have lots of time during the week, so like Danielle, I do cooking and baking on the weekends. I'll go along with whatever you decide, though every other week would probably be best for me for now. I'm up for baking or cooking, or both:)

What a fun idea! We recently started a cooking Enrichment group in our ward which has been really fun. I'm not always into baking, but if you decide to add a cooking component, I would love to join in! I LOVE new recipes!! :)

Cami, sounds fun. Although I may have to jump in a few weeks late. :)

Oh, that sounds fun. But I better hold back. Jack barely gives me time to stick he mush in a bowl and heat it 3 times a day. But I want in on the details so if I happen to have a good day then I can make something.

I just won this cookbook in a giveaway. I'm super excited. I will be checking the baked items on Delish to make sure I try out the good ones.
